Well isn’t this just perfect for both parties involved.
Toronto Raptors star Kawhi Leonard has agreed to a multiyear endorsement deal with New Balance, league sources told Yahoo Sports.
Leonard, 27, will serve as the face of New Balance basketball, with the company looking to re-establish itself in the basketball market.
The two-time NBA Defensive Player of the Year turned down an extension with Jordan Brand earlier this year, allowing him to become a sneaker free agent.
In his first year with the Raptors, Leonard is one of the early MVP favorites. The Raptors own the best mark in the NBA at 18-4, and Leonard is averaging 24.3 points, 8.6 rebounds and 1.8 steals.

Just amazing that Kawhi would be the guy to get New Balance back on the market. Maybe he fell in love and respected the brand because of ex-teammate and New Balance ambassador the Red Mamba (and possibly a cousin of mine) Matt Bonner.
But seriously maybe the most bland and vanilla star NBA player of all-time that we still barely know anything about and a vanilla shoe style/brand like new balance? Perfect team up in my opinion. Not sure the money involved but turning down Jordan brand for New Balance is quite the move. Kawhi doesn’t care about the mockery he gets on social media. He doesn’t really care about anything. He’ll be sitting back laughing raking in his New Balance money.
